Mary Kate Mezzetti
Mary Kate Mezzetti graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Government with minors in English and sociology. After graduation, she explored the intersection of politics and technology at The OpenGov Foundation while exploring different education master's programs. She will begin a Masters of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Teaching at Teachers College in the fall.
Mary Kate grew up sailing on Lewis Bay in Hyannis, MA as part of the Hyannis Yacht Club and Barnstable High School Sailing Team. As captain of the Barnstable Sailing Team she helped the team achieve its highest NESSA ranking in Barnstable Sailing History, finishing the 2012 season ranked 5th in New England.
After high school Mary Kate was a four-year member of Georgetown University’s sailing team, competing both as a women's skipper and a co-ed crew. As a member of the women's team she helped win several MAISA women's championships and achieve three top ten Women's Nationals finishes. As a co-ed crew Mary Kate competed primarily in team racing and helped Georgetown secure its 2nd place finish in the 2016 ICSA Team Race Nationals. Mary Kate was named an ICSA Women's All American Honorable Mention in 2016.
Mary Kate has continued to sail keel boats and dinghies after college and is thrilled and honored to be returning to college sailing in the capacity of a coach.
